Meditation is becoming more popular and it’s becoming less ‘woo-woo’ – the association’s people used to have of someone sitting under a tree with closed eyes are starting to disappear.

Practicing meditation can make a positive impact on the lives of everyone, but if you’re a business owner, entrepreneurs, or leader, you can really use meditation to your advantage.

Lots of entrepreneurs and very successful billionaires are meditating. People like Richard Branson, Ray Dalio, and Oprah Winfrey attribute meditation to part of the reason they are so successful. They commit to spending quiet time with themselves each day becasue they know it helps them operate at their highest level.

Give Yourself Time

When you use the lack of time as an excuse you’re not thinking about your priorities. – it’s important to shift your perspective around meditation and time to create associations about meditation in terms of the impact on your business, your revenue, and your relationships.

One of the biggest blocks that entrepreneurs speak about is time.

If you don’t have the time you need to look at how efficient you are throughout your day. When you go about your day feeling stressed, with important conversations and decisions to make, you want to do that from a grounded place within you so you feel calm and clear-minded, with sharpness of mind.

When you allow time each morning to meditate you’ll create a peaceful start to your day. You will go to situations feeling sharper and when you’re undertaking a task, you’ll be more efficient.

Tune In To Yourself

When you have a lot of clutter in your mind, you operate very differently from someone who is calm and clear-minded. Going to meditation is a way to reach a level of consciousness and awareness so you’re operating at a different frequency and can become in tune with yourself.

The typical avenue for meditation is for the relief of stress. You can use meditation as a means to shift yourself to a calmer place, but you can also use it as a tool to reach high performance

As you gain a deeper understanding of what meditation can be used for beyond bringing you back from feeling stressed, you will want to engage in it more. Your internal calm energy will open up your creativity, help you to manage your team better, and your personal relationships will improve – this will all have a positive impact on your business.

Have You Started Yet?

You have a timeline for your business – there’s also the timeline of your meditation and how advanced you can go.

It’s important to assess where you already are with your meditations. If you have never meditated before now is a great time to reap its benefits.

If you’ve never meditated, you will learn very quickly that your mind will want to move you out of meditation – that’s because your ego, (your false part of you) will want to sabotage you. Be ready for your mind to tell you that meditation isn’t worth the time and it’s silly.

Be aware of your own mental chatter – your mind will want to take you away. It’s important to concentrate on your breathing and to leave your to-do lists for later.

You could already be using guided meditations, you listen to music or you’re already at the stage where you’re sitting in silence. Think about how frequently you meditate, how consistent you are, how deep you go, and begin to take yourself to your next level of meditation.

There are so many different ways to use meditation. It’s diverse and heart-opening.

There are things that you can do in your meditation – you can ask yourself questions to access knowledge in your subconscious mind.

I Shifted My Belief

One of my biggest shifts with meditation happened in India. I was in the early stages of meditation, sitting for 10 to 15 minutes per day. I was immersed in an environment having to close my eyes for longer than I wanted to – I went deep and I soon learned how there was so much to meditation and how I could use it heal. That really blew my mind!

When I was living mostly in my personality, (in my ego) the thought of meditation was weird to me. I found it strange and I wasn’t interested, but as I attended events and invested in mastering meditation, I started to uncover part of myself and peel back my layers. Over time I became a different person; the old limiting parts of me started to fall away and I became more in tune with myself.

I started to become a better man.

When you’re in tune with yourself, you use the inner compass of your guiding system and life becomes easier. It’s not life won’t get stressful but you start to access inner power and intelligence. When you combine emotional intelligence and energetic intelligence together, you become more fulfilled and happier.

Meditation Is Intrinsic In Business Growth

I have used meditation to launch million-dollar program ideas and write books like The Black Ball: Does Anybody Else Have a Secret. These concepts came to me in meditation – I listened to my inner voice, became aware of signals, and used my inner guidance system to take action.

Having intuition and an inner guidance system is important, but without aligned action, it’s useless.

If you let yourself become cut off from your inner knowledge through external factors such as toxicity (alcohol, drugs, people) you may not receive the messages. If you are struggling right now, or things are tough, you may be disconnected from yourself. If you were once connected to yourself, but now feel disconnected, it’s time for you to get back to yourself.

When you’re open-minded and not closed off, some real gems of wisdom will open up to you creating a portal of access to your own guidance system.

Meditation is important because it slows everything down for the entrepreneur. When you get up in the morning, you’re on the computer, and your mind starts to spin quickly you have a lot of activity in your mind. The spinning and activity creates a rushing, an impatience, and it creates a compulsion. For entrepreneurs and business owners, in particular, that impatience, compulsion, and rushing shuts down your body. You can only sustain that for a certain period of time.

Get Into Your Heart

As you close your eyes and begin to meditate, you start to slow down your spinning wheel and start to create coherence. That coherence is between your mind, brain, and your heart. The connection created between your mind and heart slows you down, so you are in tune with yourself.

If you suffer from anxiety, stress, worry, or fear, you have a rapid amount of activity happening within you and you’re disconnected from your heart.

Heart-based business is about being connected to yourself.

When you have that connection to yourself, you can make different decisions, which are not ego-based. They come from a connection with you, your soul, and your spirit. That is far more in alignment than the overactive mind that may be taking you away and taking you adrift.

Imagine you get into a boat floating down a river and the water is flowing freely – that’s heart connected business. If you jump out of the boat and you’re against the tide and you paddle against the stream, it’s going to be difficult – that’s an overactive mind. You can get back into the boat to go downstream, or just sit back in the water and relax – when you relax and go with the flow you’re letting go.

Letting go and surrendering means to access your heart to allow things to happen naturally, instead of trying to fight against them.

Surrendering and letting go is a challenge for so many entrepreneurs and business owners because the mind has been so active for so long. It’s not your normal way of being. To let go, live in your heart space, and surrendering to allow things to happen is not your normal way of being.

Your ego hates it because it wants to be in control. Most people don’t like control but do like to control things – the reason people want to take control is because of events that have happened in the past.

Do you need to be a bit more open-minded and begin meditation or go back to it because you’ve got out of the habit?  Now could be the time to explore an even deeper level of meditation for you.

Wherever you are in your meditation journey, know that it will give you a much better quality of life and a deep connection, opening you up to insights for your business, and your overall wellbeing.
